The Washington Speechwriters Roundtable was formally re-launched on
June 12, 2001 with a presentation by Nan Tolbert, Training Director for
Susan Peterson Productions, the nationally known communications
training company based in Washington, D.C. Nan, a 15-year veteran
in media and presentation training, discussed “Higher Stakes, Higher
Expectations: Telling your Story in a Media-Crazy World.”
President Clinton raised the bar for public figures’ communications
skills, Nan says.
The best-crafted message can be lost if your speaker
falls short of the ‘Clinton standard’ by appearing too formal and
remote. How are you helping your speaker “be real?” Jan
explained how to update your speaker’s delivery skills and learn from
others’ coaching experiences.
Special thanks to the American Medical
Association for hosting our meeting.
